Aftermarket Remote Starter installation over existing My Subaru App installation - 2024 Forester

I got a 2024 Forester Limited in April of last year and fell for the sale of the My Subaru remote start package. It comes packaged with Starlink Safety Plus. For several reasons, I have not been happy with the App. It has failed several times when it was cold, and I really needed it to work. I have spoken to Starlink to take out the remote application and leave me with the rest of the package. THEY ARE NOT READY TO DO THAT. The only options they have for me is to either cancel the subscription or keep it as is. Now, my question to members is whether it is possible to install an aftermarket remote starter and never use the My Subaru app. Will I have to disable any module that services the remote start connection from Starlink? Has any member succeeded in having an aftermarket RS installed with My Subaru app activated by Starlink? I will appreciate any answers I may get from some of the adventurous ones on this forum.

I have Starlink but only got in anticipation of a cross country trip. I tried the remote start just once, out of curiosity but never after. It's just not that cold here and even less so if I relocate to Florida. However a thought occurred to me. As Starlink is a satellite based system, could it be that signal reception is being blocked by snow accumulation? Just a thought.

I have no clue. All what I know is that it uses AT&T cell signals. I read somewhere about a Remote Start Control Module behind the glove box which handles the process. It really gets cold in Chicago. I do not understand why right from the word "go" Subaru is not offering customers with the option to either have the dealerships install oem remote starters, or get a better one on the open market. Maybe the Right to Repair Act will become the norm across the automotive industry.
