my 2017 forester limited is using a qt. of 0w-20 oil every 3000 miles i noticed this after driving mostly highway while on a trip. the car ha d 33000 miles on the clock. dealer servicing on schedule. the car used less than half a qt. before 30000 miles on a 6000 mile oil change schedule. is this normal?

I read a Subaru company post stating that it is normal oil consumption to use oil between a 6000 mile oil changes.
I think this is complete bogus corporate PR crap. They just don't want to own up to a design flaw and fix it right.
I have a 1998 Buick 173,000 miles, and GMC truck with 164,000. My parents have 2003 Oldsmobile and a 2005 Buick.
I do the maintenance on all these cars. Change oil every 5000 miles, and none of these cars have ever burned oil or even needed to add any.
To think these cars are 20 years older technology not burning oil.
Subaru needs to just own it and fix it. They already lost a class a room lawsuit over for thier 2011-2015 models.
