2016 Impreza Sport Rear Thump

I am considering buying a 2016 Impreza Sport as a second. I test drove one and noticed a thump from the rear when going over the slightest bump in the road. It sounded like something was loose. I made sure the hatch was closed and the spare tire wasn't loose. I mentioned this to the salesperson and he said that it is a normal sound that all Imprezas make. Can anyone confirm or deny that? I've owned Subarus in the past and still own a 2019 Outback. I've never owned an Impreza but I'm assuming this is not a normal sound.
Unfortunately I can't find another 2016 in my area to drive to confirm or deny his claim.

If it truly were a normal sound that all Imprezas make then ask him what causes it. He will have NO idea....cuz it is a simply not true.
