Hi,
We have a 2014 Legacy and has experienced several instances of losing power/stalling while driving. We have 60K miles and have experienced the issue while stopping at a red light/stop sign, while attempting to reverse from our garage just after start up and on the freeway while traveling 55 mph. The car loses power, the dash lights up like a Christmas tree, once the car is at a full stop it completely shuts down. after turning the ignition off you can restart after 3 or 4 attempts and the car drives like it never happened with no other issues. In retrospect all of these incidents this year occurred on extremely cold days (Wisconsin winter). We had 4 incidents this winter and (1) 2 years ago. The incident 2 years ago we shrugged off and did nothing about because it was so unusual and the day was -20 degrees, now we are seeing there is a clear issue with the vehicle. The dealership cannot recreate the issue (warmer weather when it was there) and there are no engine codes once the vehicle is restarted. The dealership is fairly confident that something with the CVT is the cause but unable to complete that repair under extended warranty without data from the car computer showing the issue.
I've been in contact with SOA and am getting nowhere.
It seems this may be a somewhat common mystery issue but I'm unable to find a consistent idea of what the resolution is. Any information would be help.
Thanks.
