2013 Outback - Oil in cooling system

Oil in the cooling system on our 2013 Outback with 150,000+ miles. My understanding is that it is either the head gasket or more likely , the seals in the top of the oil pan area.
Is this worth fixing ? Estimate is $3500 +
 
Ask your local mechanic if it's less expensive to R&R the motor with a salvage one. Either way, the engine assembly has to come out of the vehicle...

Thanks for the reply ...looking at a couple of paths forward .
 
You're welcome. Labor is expensive. Changing out a head gasket on these motors is a lot of labor. A straight engine R&R may be less...may! If you're not attached to this vehicle, trading it in running, but with a known issue is an alternative...
