I have a 2012 Outback 2.5I/3.6R that the dealer repaired the one radiator fan and the whole shroud. I have had a slight ticking noise for about the last four months, and the Subaru dealer tech suggested a valve adjustment. I am wanting to have that done and was looking for anyone with experience regarding such a repair. 3-5 days in the shop because the engine needs to come out, and $1,900.00 was quoted. I'm at 171,000 miles, and I feel good about the longevity of the vehicle. I take good care of her, but I am coming to that point where I am evaluating costs and benefits. It is very nice not having a car payment. BY THE WAY, the dealer has never done a valve adjustment, and I know they have techs instead of ASE mechanics. Should I shop around for it?
