Hi,
I’m planning to drop the transmission pan on my 2011 Outback 3.6R with the 5EAT transmission and replace the transmission filter while I’m at it. I’ve come across videos showing two different types of filters: one is a paper-like filter encased in plastic with 3 bolt holes part no. A63010C, and the other is a metal strainer with 17 bolt holes part no. A63010B. If it’s the metal strainer, I won’t bother replacing it, but if it’s the paper-type, I’d like to replace it. How can I determine which type is currently installed in my vehicle?
Thank you!
