Hey,
My 2010 Forester lost all brakes and was unable to stop, sailed through an intersection and was finally able to stop on an incline. I checked everything over and found that I was way below minimum on my brake fluid, and after checking the entire vehicle over I found brake fluid leaking from under a black plastic shroud located just in front of the left rear wheel, which I believe protects the fuel tank. After an eye full of brake fluid, some swearing and busted knuckles, there is a union there, along the frame, severely corroded and blowing fluid all over the place. I checked with Subaru and am waiting on an answer from them to see if they'll cover the repair since the recall was performed previously. I used to be a service manager for Chrysler and their policy was "Once a recall, always a recall" and I'm just wondering if there are any Subaru techs, SA's, or SM's that could answer my question. Thanks in advance!
