2005 Legacy 2.5 XT

My wife has a 2005 Legacy 2.5 XT. We have about 12K miles and so far the car has been very good. We do have one problem, on occasion in very warm temperatures if you idle the car with the A/C on it becomes very loud and sounds as if it is laboring. There is no indication of overheating and when you go into drive it seems fine and quiets down.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas as to what may be going on? Do I need a trip to the dealer?

Thanks,
IDG

I had this once in a Saab and it was found that the AC system was
overcharged from the factory.

Sorry for the top post but its easier.

It sounds like your electric radiator cooling fans came on.

Alternatively, your compressor is cycling on and off.

Normal behaviour.
