2005 Forrester Roof Rack

I'm surprising my husband with a new roof rack! Problem is his 2005 Forrester is hard to shop for!

I bought a thule canyon cargo rack but need to buy cross bars that fit (his stock cross bars did not support it so I removed them) .... Thule website states the Evo Wingbar 118 will fit on his stock, flush, side rails but a reviewer of the bar said they did not fit his forrester.....

Any help is appreciated!
