I have a 2003 Baja Sport with 220,000 miles. My mechanic told me probably 5-76 years ago that I had an engine leak at the far back part of the motor. He felt uncomfortable pulling the motor and said I needed a new engine. I drove it for a while but the burning oil fumes started to come into cabin of car unless you had the re-circulation on while using the AC. There are a few more issues like needing a new alternator and probably some shocks and struts. I love the vehicle ... sentimental to me and was curious if anyone thinks that it needs a new motor. When running it does "shake" when in gear. It's probably worth $800-1000 due to some cosmetic issues and mileage. THOUGHTS!

If you love the Baja, it might be worth fixing a rear main seal or valve cover gasket could explain the leak, and addressing the shakes might just be engine mounts or misfires!
