I've got a 2007 Outback 2.5l (~130k) that I've noticed the a fair amount of oil leaking from the bottom of the block at the head gasket seem. So I'm going to pull the engine, surface the heads and reassemble with a full gasket kit. As I'm sure many already know, the original head bolts should not be reused, so; My question is, does anyone have any input as to the idea of using head studs instead of the OE head bolts? Is it possible that head studs may increase the useful life of the head gaskets?
